A long time ago I developed a process of creation which I refer to as "naturalism". Besides creating works in a somewhat improvisatory manner, one of the biggest elements of this process is its interaction with that particular moment in time. I believe, through naturalism, I am part of a process which creates the highest quality of works through without over-analyzing and delay. I simply embrace the moment and try to avoid the analytical part of myself from controlling the process and the end result. “Faithfulness to the moment into the present circumstance entails continuous surrender. Perhaps we are surrendering to something delightful, but we still have to give up our expectations and a certain degree of control – give up being safely wrapped in our own story.” - Stephen Nachmanovitch
I also strongly believe that it is the observer who determines any sort of meaning or significance or resemblance of the work for themselves. From my perspective, the meaning of a work of art is itself. But just as I would never project I meaning onto my works, I would also choose not to project my process on to anyone else when it comes to finding significance of works.
This work, with its vast, rich sea of blackness and its surface elements of light, is one of my favorite works I’ve created.
This work is high-quality acrylic paints on premium, stretched canvas. It’s 20 x 20 x 1.5 and is shipped to you with museum-quality, protective packing materials. It includes an official Certificate of Authentication (signed).
